1 – Safety in the workplace
With the “Good School” reform, the acquisition of practical skills in a working environment becomes a crucial step forward in school education. As provided for by law No. 107/2015 schools and companies on the territory are invested with the task of disseminating the educational and formative value of work.
Students can choose whether they want to take their work experience in private companies or public bodies, and participate in internships in Italy or abroad.
As far as safety in the workplace is concerned, interns, are equivalent to workers. For this reason, safety culture plays a pivotal role both in terms of knowledge of the regulation and in terms of risk evaluation capacity and taking responsibility for one’s own actions.
Activities are designed in order to provide specific and cross-cutting training centred around the best conditions to protect young workers.
The course is organised in 4 modules. Besides examining in depth national and international regulation, the first module addresses the issue of personal safety. The second analyses the historical evolution of safety prevention in the workplace, and the legislative decree No. 81/08. The third module is focused on the concepts of danger, damage, risk prevention and protection. Finally, the last module provides some tools to delve into the risk assessment document and its implementation.
