Philosophy for Children and Virtue Epistemology. An integrated perspective for the development of citizenship skills during childhood

Abstract

Despite the convergence of interests and goals of Philosophy for Children (P4C) and Virtue Epistemology (VEp), still few studies have focused on the differences underlying these two approaches to the intellectual formation of the person. The project aims to fill this gap by investigating its fundamental theoretical issues through a critical evaluation of shared assumptions and divergences. The research aims, through a systematic investigation, to deepen the theoretical assumptions and practical perspectives related to these two areas of reflection that aim to define and promote the intellectual attitudes of a cognitively responsible agent, that is, an individual capable of democratic participation.
