Small schools located in remote places are often doomed to close due to a shortage of pupils and staff. To safeguard these schools, in 2019 Indire’s researchers investigated the “École Eloignée en Réseau” (EER) plan created in Québec by CEFRIO (Center facilitant la recherche et l’Innovation dans les organizations, à l’aide des technologies de l ‘information et de la communication) and by the Commission scolaire du Fleuve et des Lacs, Ministère de l’éducation et de l’enseignement supérieur.
The Networked classes project emerges from the collaboration with CEFRIO and the EER and is an intervention research path aimed at applying the EER model in Italy. The support of IUL in the context of small schools in Abruzzo will allow us to understand the potential of this innovative model that makes use of original technological solutions, for an evolution of teachers’ online education models.
