Online Workshop: Innovation, Technology, and Entrepreneurship in the ELEGANTS Project
On January 16-17, 2025, an engaging online workshop took place as part of the ELEGANTS project (European Learning Environment for Gaining Arts, New Technologies, and Startups). The event provided a valuable platform for professionals, researchers, and students to explore the pivotal role of emerging technologies in the arts and humanities, with a special focus on fostering creativity and entrepreneurship.
Two Days of Learning and Inspiration
Day 1: Creativity and Emerging Technologies in the Arts
The first day was dedicated to exploring how emerging technologies such as augmented reality (AR), artificial intelligence (AI), and virtual reality (VR) are transforming artistic creation and research in the humanities.
- Giorgio Montez (Art Up) gave an insightful overview of these technologies, showcasing innovative projects like VR performances, digital exhibitions, and AI-powered creative writing.
- Marco Vigelini (Maker Camp) highlighted the potential of gaming platforms as tools to stimulate creativity and facilitate collaboration in artistic projects.
- Federica Aversa (Roma Future Week) shared techniques for presenting artistic and research projects innovatively, using digital tools like interactive presentations, online portfolios, and multimedia content to captivate global audiences.
The day concluded with a dynamic Q&A session moderated by Carlo Maria Medaglia, where participants exchanged ideas and explored future possibilities inspired by the workshop’s content.
Day 2: Entrepreneurship and Italian Success Stories
The second day focused on entrepreneurship and best practices from the Italian startup ecosystem.
- Representatives from Roma Startup, Innova, and PWRUP shared insights on how incubators support creative ideas and turn them into sustainable projects.
- Successful startups such as Gioielli DOP and Gameful presented their inspiring journeys, highlighting strategies for leveraging digital technologies to thrive in competitive markets.
Workshop Goals
This workshop, a cornerstone of the ELEGANTS project, aimed to:
- Train participants in using emerging technologies for managing and creating projects in the performing arts and humanities.
- Spark entrepreneurial creativity by connecting participants with experts and successful case studies.
- Bridge the gap between art, technology, and entrepreneurship to create new opportunities for professional and cultural growth.
