Alessio Fioravanti è nato a Roma nel 1978. Ha conseguito la laurea quinquennale in Ingegneria Informatica nel 2006 presso l’Università degli Studi di Roma “La Sapienza” e il Dottorato in Ingegneria Biomedica nel 2016 presso l’Università Politecnica di Madrid (Spagna).
La sua esperienza è focalizzata su piattaforme tecnologiche per il monitoraggio di persone affette da malattie croniche, attraverso sensori biomedici intelligenti, tecnologie wireless e piattaforme smart. Ha lavorato su protocolli di comunicazione nel campo della telemedicina, interoperabilità di dispositivi biomedici e comunicazione tra sensori. È inoltre esperto in sistemi basati su tecniche di visione e realtà aumentata, così come su sistemi di Image Object Detection basati su tecniche di machine learning. Ha collaborato come responsabile tecnico in diversi progetti nazionali ed europei di ricerca e sviluppo.
È attualmente Assegnista di Ricerca presso il Dipartimento di Ingegneria dell’Informazione, Elettronica e Telecomunicazioni (DIET) dell’Università di Roma “La Sapienza” e tutor del corso di Abilità informatiche e telematiche presso l’Università Telematica degli Studi IUL.
